April Series Meeting: The Advantages of Breastfeeding

The topic of this month's Series Meeting is "Advantages of Breastfeeding." We all hear in the news that breastmilk is the superior infant food, and that breastmilk can prevent a range of illnesses in both mother and child. But what is less common is a discussion on the process of breastfeeding and how it can be an amazing tool in mothering and nurturing your child beyond just the nutritional aspects of breastmilk. How does breastfeeding meet the psychological and physical needs of your baby or toddler? How is it helping you fulfill your mothering potential? You may be surprised to learn just how far-reaching breastfeeding impacts you and your baby. Further to this we'll explore La Leche League's 1st concept of its philosophy, Mothering through breastfeeding is the most natural and effective way of understanding and satisfying the needs of your baby, and what it can mean for you and your baby.

In addition to this topic there will still be plenty of time for chatting with other mothers, getting your questions answered, speaking to a LLL Leader, etc. We do hope you'll join us! The lending library, which includes a variety of parenting books, dvds, and slings, will also be available.
